Training
In order to emphasize our responsibility to safety, we require that all of our employees and supervisors are provided with proper training as required by OSHA. Our training system includes, but is not limited to the use of videos, handouts, related newspaper articles, and OSHA newsletters. We also provide MSHA training for those facilities that require this training. Each employee is evaluated on their comprehension of the provided safety training.
Employees are also tasked trained for their specific craft. We provide specific programs for each craft that qualifies the employee to complete the task before them. Our task specific training programs include:
Apprenticeship Program –
We offer apprenticeship programs for employees so that they may better their knowledge and become eligible for promotion within the company. Currently we offer two programs, one for an Industrial Coatings Technician and another for a Scaffold Erector. The Industrial Coatings Technician program is a 6,000 hour program that is completed in approximately three years. The Scaffold Erector program is a 4,000 hour program that is completed in approximately two years. During these programs, the apprentices will receive hands-on-experience as well as training on all industry standards, safe work practices, and the general work processes to complete their specific task.
The program was designed and is registered with the National Apprenticeship Program and Apprenticeship Carolina – SC Technical College System.
Incumbent Worker Training
The purpose of this training is to professionally develop our workforce. Our employees receive training on Behavior Based Safety, Supervisory Training and Maintenance Training. We feel the training benefits the employees and our company by upgrading the employees skills, helping them handle change effectively, increasing teamwork, and improving customer relations by strengthening communication skills.
We believe that proper employee training benefits everyone by saving time and money.
